A drunk-driving prevention campaign born from a South Jersey family's tragedy is preparing for a major national expansion, with $500,000 in federal funding expected to put its message on approximately 125 additional police vehicles across the country.U.S. Rep. Jeff Van Drew announced Monday that the federal funding will support expansion of the John R. Nothing Found After Bomb Threat At Cape May County Zoo

A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Cape May County Park & Zoo late Monday afternoon, prompting a large law enforcement response and a search by four bomb-sniffing dogs before authorities declared the grounds clear. SouthJerseyNewsBeat.com reports the threat was received by the county's 911 center shortly after 4 p.m. Monday, Oct. 5, according to Cape May County officials.The Cape May County Sheriff's Office and Middle Township Police Department responded, and visitors and employees were evacuated while the zoo's animals were secured.Four K-9 teams then searched the zoo and surrounding park.No explosive device or other threat was found, and authorities ultimately gave the property the all-clear.

AC Man Pleads Guilty To Endangering The Welfare Of A Child

An Atlantic City man has pleaded guilty to endangering the welfare of a child in a case that began when two young children came outside a home and told police their mother had been attacked, according to SouthJerseyNewsBeat.com. Yusef Gordy, 37, pleaded guilty Thursday, Oct. 1, to third-degree endangering the welfare of a child before Superior Court Judge Daniel Kurkowski.Under the plea agreement, prosecutors will recommend a three-year New Jersey State Prison sentence.The case stems from a Dec. 18, 2025 domestic violence incident in Atlantic City.
